The workshops below will be held the morning of Monday, October 8th, 8:30am-Noon. There is an additional fee of $100.00 to register for a workshop. As these workshops run concurrently, you will only be able to attend one.
OPEN DATA WORKSHOP WITH COGNITE
Exploring the World’s first Publicly Live Export Compressor
3 hours
In this workshop, we will explore the first publicly available, live and complete equipment datasets in asset-heavy industries.
Recently, the O&G operator AkerBP has taken all the sensordata, maintenance logs, and technical documentation, both live and historical, for one of their most critical operational equipments, and made it all available to anyone with an internet connection.
Their hope is that by making this data available, academics, start-ups, and other interested, can use this data to push the frontier of data science and bring new insights to asset heavy industries.
Through the workshop, you will learn how to:
- Quickly navigate the past and present state of the export compressor
- Relate maintenance events and sensors values,
- Hook up to live data streams using Python,
- Build some typical anomaly detection models used by the industry.
The overall aim is to provide you with a clear understanding of the current state of predictive maintenance in the O&G field along with a fantastic dataset to start improving it.
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of Python
- An interest in time-series data and critical machinery
- A desire to help liberating human creativity in asset heavy industries
DEEP LEARNING WORKSHOP WITH CRAY
Featuring NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute
3 hours
Join the leaders in supercomputing and artificial intelligence for a half-day deep learning tutorial during RICE Data Science Conference. Participants will hear about the latest in AI and deep learning and dig into a hands-on lab.
Requirements:
Lab content level is beginner- level but participants should have a technical background and understand basic deep learning concepts.
